Two splendid comic valentines lampooning the men responsible for producing large numbers of these reproachful and insulting sheets - the lithographic printer and wood engraver.

An Engraver you may be by trade
But withal you’re a curious blade,
Whose rule every night, is to go to bed tight,
That the bloom on your nose may ne’er fade.
Chop away, cut and butcher your block,
Never listen again for a knock,
For you in my eyes, I loathe and despise
As the ugliest sheep in the flock.

See here a living proof,
Now is he not a perfect type
Of everything uncouth.
A great impression of dislike
He leaves on every mind,
The women too avoid his press
You very quickly find.
